Conservation Action

Daily Forest Petrolling

Poachinging is one of the main problems for the Red Panda survival. Habre’s Nest team is patrolling the forest daily to stop the poaching and hunting of wild Red Pandas. This also helps us to find a Red Panda for the tourist. Afterall they fund this activity by staying at Habre’s Nest.

Conservation Action

Dog Vaccination & Eradication

Feral Dogs are the second largest problem for the Red Panda survival. Every year as much as 40 % of the wild Red Panda population get affected by either Hunting or Canine Distemper disease. Habre’s Nest team is dedicated to the cause of eradicating ferraldogs from the Red Panda habitat. Our main expense is the vaccination drive funded by Tourism.

Conservation Action

Medical & Awareness Camps

We do free Medical camps for the local villagers living inside the Red Panda habitat, and most of the time it is the only medical resources available to them. It also helps us to do more engaging Wildlife Protection Awareness Camps and collect significant local knowledge.

Conservation Action

Habitat Restoration

Habitat Restoration is very important for the Red Pandas specially in the degraded areas within and adjacent to the Habitat. Red Panda requires both food and shelter which only a healthy forest can provide. Over the years we managed to repair many degraded forest areas.

Conservation Action

Local Employment & Empowerment

Habre’s Nest is a high impact and sustainable wildlife tourism project where over 20 local people are employed only for 4 Guest rooms and We spend 80% locally. When we share and involve more local people, they care more for the Red Pandas and protect them.
